Log Off

Every time I take a break and come back to my pc, vista has logged off and i need to re-enter my password. Unlike previous versions of windows, wherein you just enter the password and it just goes straight to the desktop and you're ready to go, vista actually starts every program all over again. It's as though my pc was shut down completely. This really is a huge annoyance and a waste of time. I would really apreciate it if someone could tell me how to fix this. Thanks.

Have you checked control panel settings for configurations on the power settings how long before shutting down/sleep etc?

Go into Power Options (click the Start button, type pow and click Power Options). Choose the High Performance power plan to have the computer never go to sleep.
There are other power-related things you can do down the left pane of that window. Like go to sleep but not require a password on wakeup.
